The MAScIR Foundation, affiliated with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, and Laprophan laboratories signed a Joint Venture on Monday, October 2, 2023, in Laayoune, at the UM6P headquarters in Foum El Oued, Laayoune.

This signing took place between Mr. Hicham El Habti, President of UM6P and the MAScIR Foundation, and Mr. Farid Bennis, President of Laprophan, under the effective presidency of Mr. Wali Abdeslam Bekrat, and resulted in the creation of a joint entity called IBYLTECH (Ibyl meaning "camel" in Arabic and tech for biomedical technology).

The objective of this JV is to develop nano antibodies derived from camelids for cosmetic and medical indications, through research dedicated to biotechnology and the valorization of camel products. The JV aligns with the joint commitment of Laprophan, UM6P, and MAScIR to make a tangible contribution to the development of the Southern Provinces.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Nawal Chraibi, General Director of the MAScIR Foundation, Ms. Elisabeth Moreno, Administrator of Laprophan and former Minister, accredited Consuls in Laayoune, as well as local elected officials and dignitaries.
