Today, on World Diabetes Day, we emphasize the importance of prevention and awareness regarding this chronic disease that affects millions of people.
The WHO estimates that 422 million adults live with diabetes, causing 1.5 million deaths each year, with 80% occurring in low- and middle-income countries. According to projections, diabetes could become the leading cause of mortality by 2030.
In Morocco, the situation is concerning: the prevalence rate of diabetes in the adult population is 12.4%, resulting in over 12,000 deaths annually and contributing to an additional 32,000 deaths due to complications related to blood glucose.
Regular screening, a balanced diet, and medical follow-up are essential for preventing and managing diabetes.
At Laprophan, we remain committed to the fight against diabetes and to promoting health solutions that meet the needs of the population.
