From Laâyoune to Chefchaouen: medical students embody the spirit of national solidarity in Ounan

The commune of Ounan, part of Bab Berred in the province of Chefchaouen, hosted a remarkable medical and humanitarian initiative led by students and supervisors from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Laâyoune. This delegation traveled to the area to provide the local population with health services including consultations, examinations, and medical advice, all in an atmosphere characterized by seriousness, commitment, and a sense of responsibility.

At the intersection of professional competence and civic action, this initiative illustrates the growing involvement of future doctors in field volunteering. It particularly helps to bring health services closer to citizens, strengthen the culture of prevention, and promote early detection, especially in rural areas where access to care can sometimes be limited.

The success of this operation also relied on the mobilization of health professionals from the province of Chefchaouen, in coordination with local teams from Bab Berred and Ounan. This synergy allowed for a rigorous organization of the reception and a smooth management of the beneficiaries, ensuring that services were delivered under optimal conditions.

Moreover, this action provided a strong opportunity for consolidating institutional cooperation, thanks to the participation of the Moroccan Red Crescent at the provincial level of Chefchaouen and the Bab Berred section. Their logistical and organizational contribution, combined with the support of local authorities and the administration of the host establishment, played a decisive role in the success of this medical caravan.

Beyond its immediate health impact, this initiative conveyed a profound message: that of concrete and vibrant national solidarity, extending from the South to the North of the Kingdom. It reflects a collective dynamic in service of the citizen and reaffirms the values of mutual aid, cohesion, and social responsibility that characterize Moroccan society.
